StillBought to replace a very similar and much loved ‘400’ sized racer which suffered a structural failure at high speed, (dated from 1998 and had seen various brushed and Nicad power trains before conversion to brushless, Lipo & 2.4gHz in 2009, not mention the odd prang).
The Still has very nice lightweight fuz and wing is impressively stiff, considering the largish aileron servo pockets. Finish of all parts is good, assembly straightforward. I particularly liked that cut-outs for the motor cooling and fin mounted elevator servo were not done, allowing greater flexibility for the builder. With that in mind, I chose to make 2 smaller nose cooling inlets, 1 either side and fitted a (Hyperflight) etched PTFE outer piano wire snake, with elevator servo located just behind the wing bolt. Didn’t fancy a permanently fixed tailplane, so mounted a single 2mm insert in the fin and drilled the tailplane centre rib to accept a wide flat head 2mm screw, this combined with a tiny CF peg holds the tailplane in position firmly and allows for tinkering etc.
Power wise I’ve fitted a 3200kv 2838 inrunner turning a 5X5E and 3S, haven’t measured but guessing it’s around 450W. Flight performance is more than adequate for me, with vertical climb rate and level speed at least as quick as my old model; hope it and me last as long!!!

Excellent quality kit, but quite difficult to to set up the tailplane for incidence, and levelling to match the wing. The mounting area is very small and needs careful tweaking. Once set and epoxied all was well.
Flys like on rails using a Mega 16/15/3 motor on 3s Lipo. Not been brave enough to go to 4s yet but have prop and Lipo ready to go.

Still RacerReally good quality kit - all fibreglass parts without flaw and filmed parts straight and no wrinkles etc. have not built yet, but it looks pretty easy. cant wait to get flying
