Description

Electric fuselage kit for the Purito. Includes the electric pod, the tailboom, the tailplane mount, tailplane and the fin. Does not include the wing. This is the latest 2.0 version with many detail improvements. It is compatible with both the original and the V2.0 models.

From a forum post by the manufacturer:

We also designed an electric fuselage for our Purito, which is called the Purito-E. It was important to us that both the wing and the tail unit of the glider version could be used for our new electric fuse.

The electric fuse is a new design, which has been widened for the required components and adjusted in length. This means that the fuse pod is 10g lighter than the glider pod (weight of the electric fuse pod 35g). This electric fuse is designed for a Hacker A10 motor with small Maxon gearbox, but other motors of the same type can also be used. We will test the following components in the next few days: Vladimir’s Model VM PRO Spinner 30/3 set and as propellers the VM PRO Prop 11/7, 12/8, and 13/9. Planned take-off weight Purito-E: 450g.

Electric Powertrain Recommendations
Hacker A10-7L 4.4:1 3S 450mAh LiPo, 12x8, 13x8
DYS D2225-19 2S 450mAh LiPo, 9x6, 10x5
DYS D2225-19 3S 450mAh LiPo, 7x3.5, 7x4, 8x4
Dualsky XM2225EG-23 3S 450 mAh LiPo: 7x4, 8x4, 8x5
Dualsky XM2230EG-16 3S 450mAh LiPo, 9x5
Dualsky XM2230EG-9 2S 450 mAh LiPo: 8x4, 8x5, 8x6
** All motors apart from the geared Hacker will need the internal width of the fuselage to be widened a little. This can be achieved by omitting parts R25, R26 and R27 and substituting 6mm (1/4") triangular balsa to fill out the corners. Also all motors apart from the geared Hacker will need a little force applied between the fuselage sides (to widen them) when installing the motor. If you are not confident please select the Hacker A10-7L option

Purito pod only

The parts are cut extremely precisely. If you are a precise builder, it is duck soup. I am not. Don't forget to put in the wing mounts without glue. My Caress pod/boom, without the 64th ply is 10 grams heavier that the Purito pod/boom with ply. Good engineering.

Purito-E fuselage build

I bought the Purito -E fuselage kit last year to go along with my Purito glider kit during lockdown. The build was straightforward and enjoyable, in the same way that the glider kit was. Hyperflight's website clearly points out that, whilst the fin/rudder is part of the kit, there is no horizontal stabiliser included. The manufacturer's decision not to include the stabiliser was a little disappointing for me, as I wanted to have both glider and electric versions ready to fly with only the wing to switch over, without having to demount the elevator control. Fortunately, building a duplicate stabiliser isn't a big deal. On balance, I would rather have paid slightly more and had the parts supplied though. I used the recommended motor, prop, spinner and servos, coming out around 10gms higher than stated weight once the CG was trimmed.
As I've mentioned elsewhere, the flying characteristics of both the glider and electric version are delightful; both relaxing and stimulating simultaneously. Relaxing in that you can float around endlessly, or stimulating in that you can concentrate on hunting down the last ounce of lift. Twin spoilers gives very good landing control.
