Great little DLG!Awesome little 1m DLG. Nice way to get into the sport...

Mini Dart 2Thanks Neil! Lovely model and finish, requires patience and consideration for servo placement. Plenty of supporting doco around the place. Most importantly it penetrates, thermals and reacts pleasingly. I'm still experimenting with thermal flap angle, but thats just me. This model is my goto when a 1.5m ship is too big. Would I buy another? yes.

Mini dart 2 DLGHello, my name is Mr. Evans. I built my mini dart 2 which i further enjoyed little bit fiddly because being so small but I know have at least 60 flights with it and it is a beautiful so easy to fly. I just love every time I fly it. I will definitely buy another one in the winter. The model is beautifully made very easy to build doesn’t need a lot of elevator movement everything else was fine highly recommend it thank you Mr Evans.

MD2 Carbon and GFPurchased the glass and subsequently the carbon one for my kid and myself, both fairly straight forward to complete with a fairly generous fuselage space apart from height but not an issue once you have the right sized servos - the Bluebird 101s fit perfectly.
Both are fairly docile to launch and fly and had several 5+ minute flights after hunting out thermal activity over the fields from 30m launches.
They perform relatively similar but the fibre glass build is rather easy to dent and disfigure the surfaces in the construction phase and with heavy catches/landings - the carbon build no such issues.
To compare, we also have a Hawk 2 1m dlg which is much twitchier and likes to be flown at more speed to get the best out of it although I feel it is more sensitive to thermals, you are always on edge flying it whereas the MD2 is more relaxing and I would suggest I nice intermediate dlg to move on to.
Very quick delivery and well packed as usual from Hyperflight so excellent service as always.

An amazing DLG... Sturdy and super light weightI would give it 5 stars but the instructions suck!
The model is awesome, shipping was quick and I have already had a ton of fun with it.
Product video would be good to show how it goes together, and more detail on what kit to get, ie servos etc.

Mini dart 2I bought the mini dart 2 from Hyperflight late in 2023. The shipping was very quick from the UK to me here in western Canada and the plane arrived in perfect condition.
This was my first dlg assembly and the smallest plane I've ever kitted out so I did lots of forward planning. I did make my own servo tray so that the two aileron servos at the rear of the tray had enough space between their control arms for the rudder and elevator pull cables to run straight to the back with zero interference. That was the only mod I did.
It's May '24 now and our harsh Canadian winter is behind us so I'm hoping to get a maiden flight on it soon

Mini Dart 2 1m DLGPackage arrived quickly (under a week) and was packed very well. Parts are excellent with a very nice finish. Build time was very short and the directions were ok, 1st time builder of a DLG so I had to look at other builds to get the full picture of what to do. No flights yet time/weather have not allowed that. I think this is a very well built plane and should be fun to fly.

Mini Dart-CarbonI like to slope soar so I took this sweet little thing to the North cliffs of Cornwall for its first flight and I was hugely impressed. Fantastic launch height, gives ample room to find updraft before loosing your nerve and bringing the glider in over land again. Takes very little to keep it flying. I tested in 2Knot winds and it flew like a rocket. Handles well between 2 and 10 Knots. 5 Knots is the sweet spot. Very easy to control, can perform good acrobatics. Fuesalge may seem a bit flimsy but holds up well in rough landings. Its very light, 180 grams with Nicd battery, choose your landing spot wisely!

Mini dart 2This is my first DLG and thought this would be a great entry.
The kit is complete with hardware, great quality with good instructions. Luckily I had a good lights and magnifying hoop light because there is some tiny work to do.
Looking forward to the first flight.

Flying update!!If I could leave 6 stars I would.
Incredibly nimble and fast, yet able to fly slow in no wind to light conditions and core thermals TIGHT! Yesterday I topped out a thermal off 1 throw at 72 meters!!!!
Ive also had a few mishaps on landing in stronger conditions but overall the plane and wing hold up well. The rudder fin however is a bit fragile. I may be inserting a small carbon rod to give it more strength for more of my "improvised" landings.
100% getting another one to fly with a bit more weight for the slope!

Nice Plane! This is a lovely made little DLG. As far as I can tell, it flyes really nice. However, be careful not to leave as many dents in the wing as I did building it, the surface looks as strong as double carbon, but it isn't :) I'm tempted to compare it to the glass version, but so far it handles my "neary catched" landings pretty well.
Thanks for the perfect shipping!

Incredible Little Thing!Arrived in California in 4 DAYS! Very impressed with the quality of this model and build time, all up around 4 hours to build and then longer waiting for glue/epoxy to cure. I will be ordering another one soon. I want more of these for the quiver!!! Hours of fun with a 300mah battery! Also note: The HS40 servos do not fit in the vertical position, they are too tall. The aileron servos should be about 15mm tall max.

Great 1m DLGGot my glass MD2 and very pleased with it. Fit and finish and paint are all very good. Roomy servo area for a DLG. Used a three servo setup, taping the rudder straight and it flies very nicely w flaperons and elevator. Used Beadalon pull wire. A 2S lipo and R84 rx in front balance the plane nicely. The wing and tail bags allow me to keep the plane ready to fly.

The quality craftsmanship and shipping of this kit to the USA was Excellent! This is my first high performance DLG so I have suggestions for the work instructions. The orientation of the elevator/ rudder spring wire installation with some more detail would be helpful. State to cut 2 5mm long tubes from the aileron tubing for the R/E guide tubes. Making the first cable loops for R/E attachment were successful but for the servo attachment the cable loop bends were to short and frayed and was unable to insert into the keeper tubes. Longer wire cables or larger diameter keeper tubes might be beneficial. Hyper flight is an excellent company and I look forward to purchasing another kit in the future, thank you!!

Amazing 1mBest quality for the price. The fuselage is accessible for most servos under 8g, finishing of carbon or fiber glass is as good as top range 1.5m dlgs.
The best shipping service across Europe&UK, wish to give 500 stars to Neil. Thank you Neil for producing me the best quality airplanes wherever in UK China mainland or HK, well done!

Mini Dart 2 DLGShipped the kit to the USA, at my house in 7 days, way faster than I ever expected. Kit arrived well-protected and un damaged, every single piece was in top condition. Assembled the kit as my first DLG and it was a great introduction, had a surprisingly successful maiden flight in light wind. Definitely plan to get more DLG models from Neil.

Fun 1m DLGThe MD 2 was my first DLG. Shipping was fantastic, and the build went well. It is a blast to fly, but wow is it sensitive to the least bit of wind. I now mainly fly 1.5m models, but will grab the MD 2 when I head to the local school field that is near my home.

Mini Dart 2 reviewI received my Mini Dart 2 for Christmas 2022, the model arrived in a sturdy box and everything was immaculately packaged. The quality of the components were extremely high, with no flaws at all.
The assembly went well with only minor niggles installing the torque springs, this was very fiddly and the tail components were very easy to damage, I suggest taking some of the spring out to 45 degrees. I also suggest you install one end of the spring at a time into the holes, as the foam can easily open out under tension.
Also the slots for the aileron rods made in the fuselage should be just above the mould line of the fuselage, I copied the photos and they were a tad too high for a straight run.
I installed the Bluebird Servos
Box which are a good fit, with only a mm or so needed to widen the servo tray, the screw holes had to be filled with epoxy on one end as these were a bit out and needed re- drilling. I have also fitted a single cell 502 mah Lipo connected through a voltage booster to 6 volts. With the battery and Micro Hitec receiver right up the nose it appears to balance well, although the weather is too rough for test flights.
All up weight comes in at 145G.
Very pleased so far.

A great plane that fly very well. I have used it a lot. This is my second one. I had a transport accident. A great plane for a beginner. I have made quite some 10 minutes flights. It is easy to repair. It can take a lot of beating when I have made mistakes or flying in very turbulent conditions. Be careful when installing so you get the CG right. With the right CG it can really be floaty in weak conditions.

Mini Dart 2 1m fiberglass DLG.Extremely well made airplane. Fit and finish is superb. Tried to use "cheap" 4.5 g Turnigy 1440A servos. After slight modification to servo tray, I installed the servos but found that the servos we're too tall. I then ordered Blue Bird BMS-1010MG servos from HyperFlight which is a much, much better servo. Height of this servo is perfect. However, because I modified the original servo tray, I needed to make a new one. Designed a new one using Fusion 360 an tried different materials. (PLA, PETG, NylonX). PETG and NylonX we're too flexible. PLA at a thickness of 1.5mm was perfect and was the same weight as the original fiberglass servo holder.
Also, Neal's help with a shipment issue was really great. Fantastic company to buy from.

Very disappointingBourght a carbon MD2 about 4 months ago and after spending a month trying to build it and ultimately gave up and gave it to a friend to build, after it was built and set up if flew great, probably has 2-300 launches on it but a few weeks ago I launched it and cracked the bottom of the fusilarge (never crashed it) so got a carbon repair kit and reinforced the bottom of the fusilarge and just test flew it and maybe 5 throws in the wing mount ripped off the fusilarge and the wing folded.
Honestly quite disappointed with it, flies great but don't want a glider that's going to fall to bits in normal use

PerfectPerfect shipping from hyperflight and a lot of fun to a fair value. The MD 2 is a superb DLG. It's easy to fly, lightweight and has nearly no elevator momentum while switching the cambers.
I'm using four jx servo DHV56MG, Frsky grx6 receiver, Frsky X-Lite radio and 2S 240mAh battery. It's just a perfect fit without any balast.

Mini DartFirst full-house dlg (Elf being my starter dlg)
Great finish, outfitting was painless with lots of room in the fus. Maiden was faultless although I have dual rates on the elevator and even dialed in more as she was a little twitchy in the pitch but that could be my thumbs. In my opinion a great dlg at a reasonable price. Excellent service from Neil.

Purchased the Mini Dart 2 arrived with in 6 days but someone bent the box. So to my disappointment the wing and fuselage was damaged. The fantastic team at Hyperflight were very good fix the problem and sent replacement parts. Now with a DLG that in good order to fly. Have flown it now and I love it but I’m new to DLG. Highly recommend it. I purchased the glass which is fine to me.

Not impressedterribly disappointed with the quality control on the glider i received.
received with finger imprints on the wing. a crack in the fiberglass layup and just over all small scuff marks.
the fuselage doesn't hold to the nose at all and the tolerance is huge it will need to be fixed down adding weight to the nose.

Work of artUnbelievably fast delivery in great packaging. Ordered from Western Australia and received within a week. Don’t know how that happened. Very delicately manufactured glider with wonderful surface finish. Just be careful with the skin though as it can indent quite easily if squeezed. Servo mounting bay needed some minor mods to accomodate the superb KST servos (used epoxy to fill the gaps in plate.). Still yet to fly it but so far very impressed for the price. Great shop to deal with.

Great value for money!Looking at trying my hands at DLG, I was on the hunt for a 1m reasonably priced model, as I was not ready to invest hundreds of £s on something I might not like in the end. Read good reviews about the MD2 and found no better price then on Hyperflight (though I live in CZ). The glider was shipped pretty much the day of the order and arrived very quickly, very well packed with the BMS101 I had ordered too (note : avoid those). I was amazed by the quality and finish of the kit! Great set of accessories too, straightforward assembly, and it flies great!! Just be careful to land straight as the rudder is very thin and light and can bend break, but that's easily fixed with epoxy. Very happy with my purchase and HF service.

First carbon dlg for me. Arrived England to Fl in 3 days! Can’t comprehend how. Haven’t built it yet, but the workmanship is first rate. No ‘orange peel’ effect found on other more ‘bargain’ carbon ships. Will build and fly in the next few weeks after finishing my current build. Will update review then. First impression though… can’t go wrong here. An excellent value.

Excellent Value, Intro to DLGsThis is my first DLG, and I went with the glass layup Mini Dart 2 mainly because of the attractive price point, and the large, beginner-friendly fuselage. At the time of ordering, there were none of the BMS101-DMG servos available, so I used some EMAX ES9051's I had instead.
As another reviewer mentioned, the fuselage is roomy but not tall and the ES9051's did not fit as supplied. I removed the bottom of the servo case, and bored out the servo horns to install them upside-down and that worked fine. I would recommend just spending the extra money on the bluebirds and not worrying about it.
I installed a 6ch 5g LemonRX under the wing, leaving loads of room for a 500mAh 1S in the front with space to adjust for CG.
First flights have been delightful. The model does not require constant correction to keep it cruising along. It responds in a snappy, positive manner, and carries its energy well. It feels slippery in the air and has been a lot of fun so far.
The tail is VERY fragile to sideways forces and will bend easily. I have reinforced it with a little extra glass stripe.
Overall I recommend this to any beginner or someone looking for a small but capable DLG to keep around for those serendipitous flying moments.

Mini Dart 2I bought the fiberglass Mini Dart 2 and I found it well built and I am enjoying flying it. I'm in the eastern U.S. and it arrived from the U.K. within a week and was very well packaged. It was fairly easy to put together following the instructions on this site. The only minor thing to note is that although the nose has plenty of room, it is not tall, so, either plan to use short servos or plan to mount them horizontally. I used Bluebird BMS-101DMG and they fit well. I'm using an AR6610T receiver which is just a bit heavier, so, I put the battery under the wing so that it balanced without any additional weight. I'm still getting used to it, but, so far I've found it launches high enough to find thermals and it handles them well.

Weak fuselageHyperflight served very good as usual.
The flying performance is excellent. The only problem for an inexperienced pilot like me is the strength of the fuselage. The shock of the landing has induced several small cracks. I reinforced the fuselage by wrapping carbon roving and carbon spread. Does anyone have good idea to increase the strength?

This is an easy build, the fuselage is nice and wide and accommodates the 4 servos on the provided tray very well. You will need to use micro servos no wider than about 9mm (those recommended are ideal, as are the batteries). The delivery as always is very quick, well packed and in a sturdy box.
